hello pple, what do you think of my poem? It’s entitled Your Body(Singapore’s national museum), My Body?

it’s for undergrad creative writing class, here it is>>

Wanton
lace of Sarong Kebayas hung limp.
Silent
bold prints of the 80’s stared blankly.
A fleeting glance at the Cheong Sam
captured the faint stir
of a gold-glided dragon.

Disembodied voices
now floated down the faint-lit alley.
Trailing them
led to strangers in white.
I blinked – wasn’t that MM Lee?

Treading lightly ahead,
shadows
of reels and ashen ticket stubs
darkened the tomb’s floor.
Lido…Eng Wah in the ‘70s?
A spark lit up
the recesses of my mind.

These walls loom over me
no more.

In freedom,
the street hawker fare
of Char Kway Teow and Katong Laksa
glistens and tantalizes.
Children of faded photos
sprang to life
and danced with me.

You and I
live for the moment.
But even stillness settles once more
I know we will meet again.

I like this very much….I’m puzzled by the title, though…is there a museum in Singapore called ‘Your Body’?

Quite a lot of the references meant nothing to me MM Lee/Eng Wah and Char Kway Teow and Katong Laksa…but, that didn’t prevent me from enjoying the imagery…in fact I think that added to it..giving me a taste of some-where new.
I like the care you have taken with the placing of your sentences, adding extra nuances and emphasising words.
