Costume Skirt Authentic

Costume Skirt Authentic
I’m trying to put together a relatively authentic Renaissance Fair costume. What period is most appropriate?

I recently attended my first Ren Faire this year and am now hooked. I bought a corset and two skirts and would like to add more to my costume, but I’m not entirely sure where to go with it. After some research it looks like it would be a good 17th century, middle to upper class woman’s style. I already have plans to get a four-boned hoopskirt and to put the belt beneath the corset and attach a feather fan and pouch. What else can I do? Is this a good time period to work off of? How about headwear? Could I wear a cavalier type hat made to match the dress or should I stick with a snood, etc?

Depending upon the country the Renaissance is generally dated 1450 to 1580. 17th century stuff is definitely post Renaissance. SCA accepts up to 1620.
