What should I wear to a “Western casual” event?
I have some cool cowboy boots that have a tan foot, pointed toe, and 2 inch heel, and the tops are art prints of a Russell or Remington bronco rider. Lots of pale blues and browns (Southwestern colors).
The event is going to be a political gathering held at a western history museum.
I don’t want to look like the sweetheart of the rodeo. I’m thinking of a white overblouse belted at the waist with either a tan skirt or cropped pants. I haven’t decided whether I should wear a hat. I also have some beautiful turquoise jewelry.
Any suggestions?

Wear the boots with a skirt. No hat…looks corny. Go with the jewlery but not too much. If you wear the blouse out of the skirt with a belt, try a concho belt or something wide with a silver buckle. Stay away from the cropped pants. I live in a mostly cowboy populated area and i have NEVER seen anyone wear boots and cropped pants. Have fun!
